Twelve areas of benefit.

Your membership covers twelve areas of everyday life. In each of them we negotiate, in great numbers, for the things African families pay for again and again — and we keep the essential guidance free to everyone.

Travel home & travel anywhere

African professionals and families travel on the same routes in the same weeks of the year: the long holidays, the end of the year, the family occasions, and the journeys nobody plans. We negotiate for those routes and those weeks, for business and for family, between the continent and the world and across the continent’s own skies.

Sending money home & mobile money

Money sent home pays the rent, the medicine and the school term, and every transfer carries a cost. We negotiate that cost corridor by corridor, to bank accounts and to the mobile wallets most African households now use. Mobile money services such as M-Pesa, Orange Money, MTN MoMo and Wave are named as examples of the category, never as partners.

Health, dental & vision

Members need care where they live, and peace of mind about parents and children in another country. We arrange both. Health programmes are offered through licensed providers, under their own terms.

Insurance through licensed providers

Insurance protects what a family builds across two countries. Every programme here is provided by a licensed insurer, under its own terms. Membership itself is not insurance.

Banking, savings & credit-building

A new country often means starting again with no financial history, while the savings goal is still at home. We negotiate for members who bank in two countries at once.

Jobs, skills & recognition of qualifications

Everyday savings

Everyday spending is where a membership is felt first. We negotiate on groceries, fuel, restaurants and shopping — and on the services that families and businesses with two addresses rely on: freight, business wear, venues.

Family, education & elder care across borders

We raise children in one country and care for parents in another. We arrange programmes for both ends of that distance: school fees and scholarships, care for parents, and the languages that keep a family connected across generations.

End of life & repatriation

The heaviest duty our communities carry is bringing a loved one home, or laying them to rest with dignity where they lived. We arrange programmes through licensed providers, and beside them stands the Mutual Aid Compact between member associations. The compact is not insurance and creates no right to payment.

Offer a programme to our members

Airlines, banks, insurers, schools, clinics and retailers that wish to serve the global African family work with TAS Member Services, which negotiates and runs the programmes for every house.

TAS Member Services

Benefits, answered plainly.

Five questions members ask first.

members@tasafrica.org

How do I use a benefit?

Your digital member card is the key. Each programme sets out how it is used — at a counter, online or by telephone — and your card, with its QR code, shows that you are one of us.

Do the benefits reach my family?

Yes. Each adult holds a membership of their own, and membership is free; children under 18 are included on a parent’s membership. Several programmes are made for relatives in another country: cover for parents at home, school fees, medicines.

Are the benefits the same in every country?

The twelve areas are the same in every house of the family. Within them, we negotiate each programme for the places where our members live and the places they call home, because a transfer from Brussels to Bamako is not a transfer from Johannesburg to Harare.

Who provides the programmes?

TAS Member Services negotiates and runs the benefit programmes for every house of the family. Regulated services — insurance, banking, health cover — are always provided by licensed providers, under their own terms.

Is membership insurance?

No. Membership is not insurance. Insurance and repatriation programmes are offered only through licensed providers. The Mutual Aid Compact is solidarity between associations: it is not insurance and creates no right to payment.

Wherever we go, we go together.

Membership is free. One membership per adult; children under 18 are included on a parent’s membership.
